For our first Reserve Pinot Noir we relied on fruit from the Rogue Valley AVA of Southern Oregon. Rogue's Mediterranean climate consistently produces powerhouse pinots with deep plum notes, abundant yet supple tannins, and a sweet red fruit core.
For 2015, harvest began two weeks earlier than normal in the Rogue Valley. We brought in very ripe black fruit leaning toward soft, dark plum, with acids on the medium side. We aged the wine for eight months in a mix of new and seasoned French oak. This wines has a deep ruby red color with aromas of ripe dark plums and black currant jam with some pepper spice and earthiness. Lush, dark fruit with a velvety mouthfeel and subtle tannins balanced by a fresh lingering acidity. Pair with duck cassoulet, grilled filet, or lamb chops with red-wine reduction glaze.
